Again, No New Alderman Named for Manchester

On Tuesday night, the Manchester Board of Mayor and Alderman met to discuss various agenda items, including naming a new alderman. The person selected would serve the remaining time of Joey Hobbs’ term. Hobbs recently won the election for mayor. Seventeen citizens have applied for the vacated seat.

Only three aldermen attended Tuesday’s meeting: Julie Anderson, James Threet, and Donny Parsley. Mayor Hobbs is out of town on a planned trip, and Aldermen Mark Messick and Ryan French did not attend, so a quorum was not met, and the meeting was canceled. This is the second time this has occurred.

Anderson, Threet, and Parsley have requested a special meeting for September 10, 2024, at 7 PM.
