Authorities in Grundy County have arrested a 25-year-old woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Monday, killing a bicyclist.

Haley Layman was arrested and charged in the death of Bobby Green, according to a social media post by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office.

Green was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle at the intersection of Rock Avenue and Main Street in Palmer.

The arrest report states that Layman admitted to drinking and leaving the scene of the accident. The report also indicates she drove to South Pittsburg in Marion County to have her vehicle repaired, allegedly "in efforts to conceal or tamper with evidence of the crime."

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to Layman's arrest.
