Eaglettes Flip the Script on Spring Hill in Gusty Road Win

Will Davis

The Shelbyville Golden Eaglettes used a strong defensive performance and a balanced offensive attack to battle out a tough, 43-38 win at Spring Hill on Tuesday night, in Columbia, TN.

The night didn’t start in Shelbyville’s favor, as Spring Hill jumped ahead early, finishing the first quarter with a 13-9 lead. Despite struggling to find an offensive rhythm, the Eaglettes clawed their way back, keeping the game within reach at halftime, trailing just 26-22.

Shelbyville’s defense tightened in the second half, but Spring Hill still clung to a slim lead at the end of the third, 31-29. That’s when the Eaglettes flipped the switch. Their defense locked down the Lady Raiders in the final period, shutting down their offense while capitalizing on key scoring opportunities to secure the victory.

Yasmine McFarland led the charge with 11 points, earning the Watson Metals Player of the Game. Janiya Leslie added 10 crucial points, delivering in key moments, while Morgan Pidmore contributed eight points and anchored the defensive effort that ultimately sealed the win. Shelbyville will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 13, as they host Columbia Central, with the girl's game tipping off at 6 P.M. and the boy's contest to follow at 7:30 P.M.

The next broadcast on 105.1 Whiskey Country will be on Thursday, Feb. 13, as they host Columbia Central. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 P.M.
