Elk River Public Utility District (ERPUD) presented a donation of $10,000 to the Good Samaritan organizations of Coffee and Franklin counties today. The contribution will help local residents struggling to pay their utility bills, ensuring access to essential services during times of need.
This donation was made possible through ERPUD’s Round Up program, a voluntary initiative where customers can choose to round up their utility bills to the nearest dollar. The extra change collected through the program is pooled together to provide financial assistance to those facing hardship.
“We are incredibly grateful for our customers who participate in the Round Up program,” ERPUD stated in an announcement. “Their generosity allows us to give back to the community and support those in need.”
The Round Up program is completely voluntary, and customers interested in joining can email ERPUD at contact@erpud.com to sign up.
This initiative highlights the power of community-driven support, demonstrating how small contributions can make a big difference for neighbors in need.
