Franklin Firefighter Killed in Bedford County Collision

A fatal car crash occurred last week on Highway 41A in Bedford County, Tennessee, resulting in the death of a longtime Franklin firefighter.
According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Gregory Tucker, 49, was traveling south on Highway 41A on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. His 2020 Jeep Glad crossed the center line and overcorrected while negotiating a right curve. A 2023 Mack GR6 Dump then struck the Jeep in the northbound lane. Both vehicles left the roadway on the west side and caught fire after the collision.
No charges have been filed in connection with the crash, as stated by the THP.
Gregory Tucker had been a member of the Franklin Fire Department for 14 years and was assigned to Station 5. He was originally from Redford, Michigan, and resided in Shelbyville. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who received multiple awards for his service.
Visitation for Gregory Tucker will be held on Monday, June 23, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. The service will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by internment at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, with both fire and military honors.
