Tullahoma, TN — A celebration of global culture and tradition is set to light up the stage at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center as musicians and dancers from Estonia, Poland, Puerto Rico, and across the United States arrive for a spectacular folk festival event, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The showcase is part of the long-running International Folkfest, which celebrates its 43rd anniversary this year. Since its founding in 1982, the festival has become a cherished tradition in Middle Tennessee, uniting audiences with the rich heritage of folk music and dance from around the world.
Joining the visiting international troupes are Rutherford County’s own Cripple Creek Cloggers, who serve as the festival’s hosts, along with The Slim Chance Band, led by director Rob Pearcy.
Over the course of the week, from June 10 to June 14, approximately 110 performers will participate in events and performances throughout the region. Tuesday’s performance at South Jackson offers a unique opportunity to witness this cultural exchange up close, featuring vibrant costumes, rhythmic traditions, and unforgettable music.
