The Manchester Fire Department will conduct a controlled burn on a vacant structure on January 30th. According to Deputy Fire Marshal Jeremy Woods, a property owner has approved a condemned building for use by the MFD, with a burn scheduled for Thursday. To provide realistic training, fire departments sometimes burn structures slated for demolition, such as homes, barns, or commercial buildings. These supervised burns are invaluable for personnel. The MFD is currently conducting training exercises at the structure at 716 Ragsdale Road and will continue using the site until the scheduled burn.
