On March 14, 2024, the Contracting office at Arnold Air Force Base awarded the Test Operations and Sustainment contract valued at more than $3.8 billion to Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH), Huntsville, AL. National Aerospace Solutions, that had held the current contract since 2015 protested the decision. According to an AEDC spokesperson, on July 2, 2024, the U.S. Government Accountability Office denied a protest.
This is a 12-year contract worth $3.8 billion. Beyond New Horizons will provide test operations, technology development, equipment and facility sustainment, capital improvements and support services for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex. This contract is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2036.
A majority of the workers with NAS are expected to be offered positions to continue to work at Arnold Air Force Base.
