A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested Saturday in connection with an online shooting threat targeting the Madison Street Carnival, according to the Shelbyville Police Department. The arrest was made by the department's Criminal Investigation Division and Digital Forensic Unit.

The threat, posted on Snapchat, prompted concerned citizens to notify law enforcement, a swift response for which the Shelbyville Police Department extended its gratitude.

Authorities confirmed that the arrested juvenile had also been involved in a shooting at last year's Madison Street Carnival in June 2024. That incident resulted in one adult male being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further details regarding the nature of the recent Snapchat threat and the charges the juvenile will face have not yet been released by the Shelbyville Police Department. The community remains vigilant as investigations continue into both incidents.Coffee County Manchester Public Library Awarded Grant to Boost Summer Literacy Initiatives
