Shelbyville Golden Eagles got stellar performances from Jordan Taylor, Jevon Lee, and Tae’Shawn Shelton in a solid, 66-48, win against Lincoln County on Tuesday night at Rick Insell Gymnasium.
The Shelbyville Golden Eagles set the tone early and never looked back in a thrilling matchup against the Lincoln County Falcons. Dominating the opening quarter, Shelbyville surged ahead to an 18-9 lead, putting the Falcons on their heels. Lincoln County rallied in the second quarter with a 14-point effort, but the Golden Eagles stayed composed, heading into halftime with a narrow 25-23 advantage.
After the break, Lincoln County came out strong, determined to shift the momentum. The third quarter saw both teams battling fiercely, with Shelbyville clinging to a razor-thin 38-37 lead heading into the final frame. But in the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles left no doubt. With an explosive 28-point effort, Shelbyville pulled away to seal a decisive victory.
Jordan Taylor led the charge for the Golden Eagles, putting up a stellar 23-point performance. Jevon Lee was a dominant force in the paint, adding 22 points and earning Watson Metals Player of the Game honors. Tae’Shawn Shelton came through in clutch moments, contributing 13 key points to help secure the win. Shelbyville will return to action on Friday, Jan. 24, as they host Spring Hill, with the girl's game tipping off at 6 P.M. and the boy's contest to follow at 7:30 P.M.
