The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced an upcoming resurfacing project on State Route 55, also known as McMinnville Highway, in Coffee County. According to Rae Anne Bradley, Regional Communications Officer for TDOT Region 2, Volunteer Paving will undertake the work, which will span from US 41 to the area north of Interstate Drive. Following the paving, final pavement markings will be installed.

The milling work is scheduled to start on Sunday night, May 4th. To minimize disruption to motorists, the majority of the construction will be conducted at night, between the hours of 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. These overnight operations will involve single-lane closures.

TDOT anticipates that the resurfacing project will take approximately one month to complete. The department's goal is to have the entire project finished before the start of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, which is held annually in mid-June in Coffee County.
