Tullahoma basketball opened district play with a road sweep of Marshall County Tuesday night at Dottie Kelso memorial Gymnasium in Lewisburg.
Trailing by five entering the fourth quarter the Lady Cats outscored the Tigerettes 15-3 in the final period to rally for a 40-33 win. Isabell Lidstrom led Tullahoma with 11 points and McLayne Bobo also finished in double figures with 10. The win improves the Lady Cats 9-9 overall and 1-0 in district play.
In the boys game the Wildcats built a 21 point advantage through three quarters but the Tigers tallied 31 in the fourth to make it interesting down the stretch. However Tullahoma, thanks to another monster night from Xavier Farrell (43 points, 14 in the 4th), held on for a 73-63 win, their fifth straight. Farrell was joined in double figures by Khani Johnson with 15. The Wildcats are now 16-2 overall and 1-0 in the district.
