Coffee County School Board Chooses Hargrove as New Director

At the April 28, 2025 special call Coffee County School Board meeting, the Board voted 6-3 to select Mr. Scott Hargrove, as the new Director of Coffee County Schools.

Hargrove is currently serving as Principal of East Lincoln Elementary School in the Tullahoma City School system.

Some of the School Board met for a work session at 4PM prior to the special call meeting that was held at 5PM. Robert Gilley did not attend the work session.

During the work session discussing the upcoming Director vote, Board member Holly Matthews expressed concerns that the Tennessee School Board Association (TSBA) had not delivered the promised number of qualified applicants when they contracted with the Coffee County School Board for $16,500 to conduct a Director search. The Board ultimately voted to not host a second round of interviews or re-open the application process.
