Coffee County Sheriff Warns of New Scam

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office along with the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office has received several calls from citizens regarding a text message they received supposedly from the DMV. This text references penalties for a fine that is owed and what may happen if payment is not received (Pictures Attached). This is a scam and not an official notice. DO NOT click the link or reply to this message as requested. Scammers are becoming more and more crafty in trying to obtain money or personal information. Remember, law enforcement will not text or email or telling informing you that you owe a fine or penalty.
