The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has announced that Free Fishing Day will take place on Saturday, June 7, offering everyone the opportunity to fish in public waters without a license for the day.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or brand new to the sport, this statewide event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy Tennessee’s abundant natural beauty and thriving aquatic habitats. Free Fishing Day is designed to encourage people of all ages to try fishing—without any cost or pressure.
A TWRA spokesperson said. “Fishing is a great way to connect with nature, and this event makes it easy for everyone to participate.”
In addition to waiving the license requirement, free fishing events will be hosted in communities across the state, many featuring special activities for children and families, as well as prizes and giveaways at select locations.
