FRANKLIN COUNTY, TN — The Franklin County Mayor’s Office has announced a major step forward in local recycling efforts. The county’s Solid Waste Management Department has received a recycling equipment grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), which has been used to purchase a new cardboard collection truck.

The addition of this truck will significantly improve the efficiency of cardboard recycling operations throughout the county. By increasing the volume of recyclable materials collected and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills, the new truck is expected to play a vital role in advancing the county’s sustainability goals. Officials say the truck will support a cleaner, greener Franklin County by streamlining collection routes and expanding recycling capabilities.

“This is a big win for our community,” said a spokesperson from the Mayor’s Office. “We’re grateful to TDEC for their support and proud to continue making progress in responsible waste management and environmental stewardship.”

The new truck is now part of the county fleet, and residents can expect to see it in operation soon. More updates will be shared as the program continues to roll out.
