TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — The City of Tullahoma's Parks and Recreation Department has officially kicked off a new improvement project at Joe Moon Field, made possible through a partnership with the Tennessee Army National Guard Community Assistance Program. Members of the 230th Engineering Battalion, under the 194th Engineering Brigade, were on site this week to begin early construction tasks.
The collaborative initiative was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen during its March 24 meeting and is expected to include land surveying, excavation, and a series of construction projects throughout the park later this summer and fall. The ongoing work marks the first phase of a long-anticipated series of upgrades aimed at improving recreational facilities for the community.
Officials are urging residents and visitors to use caution when entering the central parking lot, as it has now become an active construction zone. The project is a key step in revitalizing Joe Moon Field and enhancing public amenities, aligning with Tullahoma’s broader vision for improved outdoor spaces. Parks and Recreation also extended birthday wishes to the U.S. Army, celebrating its 250th anniversary.
