Farrell named All-State by Tennessee Sports Writers

Tullahoma Senior forward Xavier Farrell has been named to the Class 3A All-state team by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.

“Xa is an example of what hard work can do. He led us with his unstoppable efforts on defense and offense. He deserves every award he gets, and will always give his teammates the credit,” Tullahoma Head Coach Jason Welch said. “I’m so proud of his improvement on and off the court. He has a bright future!!”

Farrell was a part of a historic season for Tullahoma basketball in more ways than one. First he helped lead Tullahoma back to the state tournament for the first time since 1978. At the glass house his 33 points vs Jackson South Side led the Wildcats to their first state tournament win and 21 and 19 respectively vs Fayette-Ware and Upperman helped power Tullahoma to a runner up finish in class 3-A.

Individually, he reset the program career (1,569) and season (867) scoring records.

Farrell was named the District 8-3A regular season and tournament MVP, the Region 4-3A tournament MVP and to the Class 3-A All-Tournament Team. He was named to the 3A All-State Team by Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee and selected to participate in the BCAT All Star Game.
