Winchester, TN – The City of Winchester has announced that construction on Bible Crossing will commence next week as part of a major sewer infrastructure improvement project aimed at upgrading the city's aging system and increasing capacity for future growth.
Road Closure and Access Details
During Phase One of the project, Bible Crossing will be completely closed from Old Estill Road to Sharp Springs. The closure is expected to last several weeks. Provisions will be made for residents living within the closed section to access their properties. However, Franklin Hills residents will need to use Old Estill Road exclusively for entering and exiting the neighborhood during this phase.
Officials stated that the public will receive advance notice before Phase Two begins.
Why the Upgrade Is Needed
This project is a critical part of the city’s broader efforts to modernize essential infrastructure. The sewer upgrade is expected to significantly increase capacity and reliability for residents and businesses across Winchester.
“This is a long-term investment in our public utilities and quality of life,” a spokesperson from the Mayor’s Office said. “We are committed to making necessary improvements to ensure Winchester continues to grow and thrive.”
Local Contractor Leading the Project
The city is partnering with LTS, a Winchester-based contractor, to carry out the work. City officials highlighted the benefits of working with a local firm, noting LTS’s deep understanding of Winchester’s infrastructure and their contribution to the local economy.
