For the fourth consecutive year, Tullahoma City Schools has earned the prestigious Best Communities for Music Education Award from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, solidifying its place as a national leader in music education. This year marks the sixth time the district has received this esteemed honor. Tullahoma City Schools stands among an elite group of only 11 districts statewide and 935 nationwide to be recognized for their outstanding commitment to music education.

"Being named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by NAMM is a tremendous honor and a testament to the unwavering support for the arts in our district," exclaimed TCS Fine Arts Coordinator Sarah McVey. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our music educators, the enthusiasm of our students, and the commitment from our administrators, school board, and community to providing meaningful, high-quality music education for all. We are proud to celebrate this achievement together."

Now in its 26th year, the Best Communities for Music Education award program shines a spotlight on the remarkable efforts of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who champion music education as an integral part of a comprehensive education. The NAMM Foundation bestows this designation upon districts and schools that demonstrate exceptional dedication to and accessibility of music education for all students.

The award underscores the understanding that a thriving music community is built upon the passion and commitment of leaders who strategically utilize every available resource to broaden opportunities for children to learn and flourish through music-making. Over the past 26 years, the Foundation has proudly acknowledged thousands of school districts and schools across 46 states, representing the diverse tapestry of educational communities – from rural to metropolitan, large and small, public and non-public – that prioritize students' musical development.

"I am so proud that our fine arts programs are once again receiving the national recognition they deserve," stated TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. "Our music programs are exceptional, and this honor highlights a myriad of people, including our team of amazing music teachers who lead, teach, and train our incredible students. Additionally, the award honors our school board, which supports and encourages music education and experiences for students. Lastly, this accolade is a reflection on the Tullahoma Community that emphasizes the importance of music as part of a well-rounded education."

This continued recognition from the NAMM Foundation underscores Tullahoma City Schools' unwavering dedication to fostering a vibrant and enriching musical environment for its students, ensuring that the transformative power of music remains a cornerstone of their education.
